Chardham Yatra 2024: Know opening dates
On the occasion of Mahashivratri, the date of opening the doors of Kedarnath Dham has been announced. The doors of the eleventh Jyotirlinga Shri Kedarnath Dham will open on Friday, May 10 at 7 am. With this the dates of opening of all the Chardhams of Uttarakhand for Chardham Yatra 2024 have been announced.
On May 5, the worship of Lord Bhairavnath will be completed at Shri Omkareshwar Temple Ukhimath. The Panchmukhi Bhog idol of Lord Kedarnath will depart from Panchkedar seat Shri Omkareshwar Temple Ukhimath to Shri Kedarnath Dham on May 6. Passing through various stops, it will reach Kedarnath Dham on 9th May in the evening.
On Friday, on the festival of Maha Shivratri, in the presence of Shri Badrinath Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) President Ajendra Ajay, Rawal Acharya-Vedpathis fixed the date of opening of the doors of Shri Kedarnath Dham after worshiping at Shri Omkareshwar Temple, Ukhimath and calculating the Panchang.
On this occasion, BKTC President Ajendra Ajay greeted the devotees on Shivratri. He said ‘that a record number of pilgrims reached Shri Kedarnath Dham during the Yatra last year.
This year also the number of devotees will increase. Under the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the state government and the temple committee are working committedly for the devotees facilities. Soon the temple committee team will reach Kedarnath and take stock of the preparations before the yatra.’
When Badrinath Temple will open in 2024?
The doors of Badrinath Dham will be opened on 12th May at Brahmamuhurta at 6 am. It may be noted that on the occasion of Basant Panchami, the date of opening of doors was announced in the Rajdarbar located at Narendranagar (Tehri). With the beginning of the religious ceremonies on Wednesday morning on the day of Basant Panchami, the date for opening the doors of the Dham was announced after the prayers and Panchag calculations.
Opening dates of Gangotri-Yamunotri temple in 2024
It has also been announced to open the doors of Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham. Both the Dhams will be opened on the day of Akshaya Tritiya. Before opening the doors, the administration has started preparations to provide better facilities to the devotees. From roads, dharamshalas to drinking water and health facilities are being strengthened.
