Chardham Yatra 2024: Avoid VIP darshan for first 15 days says government
Chardham Yatra 2024 is going to start in Uttarakhand from 10th May. The Uttarakhand government has given instructions to avoid VIP and VVIP darshan for 15 days after the start of the yatra. On the instructions of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the Chief Secretary has also sent a letter to this effect to the Chief Secretaries of other states. Especially in Kedarnath, VIP darshan has been asked to be avoided so that other pilgrims do not face any kind of trouble. According to Garhwal Commissioner, the Registrar of the High Court is also being informed in this regard.
The countdown for Chardham Yatra has started in Uttarakhand from Wednesday. The number of registrations for the Yatra has crossed 18 lakh on Wednesday. Due to which this time token and slot system is being implemented in all the four Dhams. In this regard, the Tourism Department has also issued a letter to the DM SP of Uttarkashi, Haridwar, Chamoli and Rudraprayag.
In view of the lakhs of registrations for Chardham Yatra, the Uttarakhand government, on the instructions of the Chief Minister, has decided not to conduct VIP and VVIP darshan in the first 15 days. Chief Secretary Radha Raturi on Wednesday held a review meeting regarding Char Dham Yatra with Badrinath Kedarnath Temple Committee Chairman Ajendra Ajay and Tourism Secretary Sachin Kurve. After which letters have been sent to other states.
