CM inagurates building and bridge in Chamoli

Chamoli:

Chief Minister Harish Rawat inaugurated the newly constructed Tehsil building and Guarder motor bridge worth Rs 719.90  lakhs at Jilasu in Chamoli on Saturday.

Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister Shri Rawat said that alleviating poverty was a topmost priority for the government. The resources of livelihood must be increased to prevent escape. “Today, every village is connected with the motor road, so that people should increase their production which would be marketed  in the nearest market.” the CM said.

The CM stated that the state government was going to start working on 700 new roads, from whom the villagers would be facilitated to marketing in the nearby market. Several schemes were being run by the government for the overall development of the villages. He said that the government was preparing a plan to give government job to the 20 thousand youths. On the pattern of Jilasu, the government was trying to make 100 mini cities in next five years in Uttarakhand. Bonus would be given to those people who were working in the field of agriculture, fruits and milk production.

On the occasion the CM announced around a dozen schemes such as silt removal in Alaknanda River at Kaleshwar, construction of flood protection wall in Kaleshwar. Installation of 33 KV electricity sub division in Langasu, to link Semi-Uttaro motor road with highway, construction of a motor bridge at Sonla, ANM center in Uttaro and Aayurvedic Hospital at Sumi gaon in Pokhri in memory of Late. Basudev Chauhan.

Rawat, said that 1000 women constable would be recruited. A woman constable would be appointed at each police station. 20 percent reservation would also be provided to the women in the recruitment of PRD. Rs 400 as a bonus for fruit trees would be provided. A bonus for Chaal Khaal would also be provided. Rs 500 pension would also be given to the born with disabilities. Provision has also been made to give pension to the dwarfs, in which dwarf girl would be got the pension a half time more.

The CM stated that pension would be provided to the Purohits and farmers over the age of 60 years. Provision has also been made to provide free travel to the male senior citizen over the age of 65 and female senior citizen over the age of 60 in Roadways buses.

Present on the occasion were, Cabinet Minister Mantri Prasad Naithani, Tourism Minister Dinesh Dhanai, Dypt. Speaker of Vidhan Sabha/ MLA Karanprayag Dr. Anusuya Prasad Maikhuri, MLA Badrinath Rajendra Singh Bhandari and DM Chamoli Ashok Kumar with other dignitaries.

After that, CM Harish Rawat went to the Gopeshwar to participate in a program of Student’s Union of Government PG College, Gopeshwar. The CM assured them to open Sridev Suman University campus there and to fill soon the vacant posts of the teachers. He also approved Rs 25 lakhs for girl’s hostel. A multi-purpose hall would also be built for the girls.

Directions have been given to the DM to remove high tension line over the Press Club building. Rs 2 Crore have been released to develop the parking facilities in Gopeshwar. To promote handicraft, the announced to appoint the master craft women who will give training to others.
