National Games 2025: Record haul of medals for Uttarakhand
Just a few hours before the closing of the 38th National Games, Uttarakhand athletes have created history by winning a century of medals. Never before had so many medals fallen in the lap of Uttarakhand. This performance of Uttarakhand gives the feeling of real spring blooming in the world of sports. In the 37th National Games held in Goa, Uttarakhand had won only 24 medals and was ranked 25th in the medal tally. This time there has been a tremendous jump in both the number of medals and the position of Uttarakhand in the medal tally. On Thursday evening, Uttarakhand was seen at number seven in the medal tally with a total of 101 medals.
The players of host Uttarakhand have performed brilliantly on their home ground. While Uttarakhand had won only three gold medals in the last National Games, this time there has been a wave of golden success. Uttarakhand has won 24 gold medals. Apart from this, a total of 101 medals have been added to its account with 35 silver and 42 bronze medals. If we look at cumulative medals, only Services, Maharashtra and Haryana are ahead of Uttarakhand in the table. In this respect, Uttarakhand is at fourth position, but due to the assessment of the total number of gold medals, it has become seventh. Due to more gold medals, states like Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh and Tamil Nadu are ahead of Uttarakhand in the medal table.
