Uttarakhand cabinet approves opening of schools for classes 6 to 12 from August 2
Classes will now start again in schools and colleges closed due to corona infection. In the cabinet meeting held on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, it was approved to open schools and degree colleges from 6th to 12th from August 2. All schools from class one to five will remain closed. The cabinet has also taken cognizance of the personnel being vocal about pay discrepancy related issues in various departments.
In this episode, a four-member committee has been constituted under the chairmanship of former Chief Secretary Indu Kumar Pandey. This committee will submit its recommendations to the government within a maximum period of three months. The government has approved the special financial assistance scheme for the students who are preparing for IAS, PCS and other competitive exams.
Decisions were taken on 11 subjects in the CM Dhami cabinet meeting held in the Secretariat. After the meeting, Cabinet Minister Subodh Uniyal at the media center at the Secretariat said in the briefing that the situation in the state is under control in view of the corona infection. In view of this, from August 2, it has been decided to open all schools and degree colleges above class VI. For this, the concerned departments will issue Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) in view of the guidelines of Covid.
The Cabinet has approved the formation of Pay Anomaly Committee to remove the cases of salary discrepancy of employees in Secretariat, Vidhan Sabha as well as Police, Forest, Rural Development, Revenue, Horticulture, Energy and other departments. According to Cabinet Minister Uniyal, this committee headed by former Chief Secretary Indu Kumar Pandey has been directed to submit its recommendations at the earliest. The deadline for this has been fixed till October. The government will take a decision after considering these recommendations.
The cabinet also gave a green signal to the scheme to provide special financial assistance to meritorious students for the preparation of the main examination of competitive examinations of Union Public Service Commission and State Public Service Commission. Under the scheme, all the youth of the state who are successful in the preliminary examination of the Union Public Service Commission and 100 candidates who pass the preliminary examination of the State Public Service Commission, will be given an amount of 50-50 thousand rupees. Reservation roster will be applicable in this. Similarly, in exams like NDA, CDS, OTA, those who clear the preliminary exam will be given the same amount before the interview. Earlier this amount was available after selection. According to Cabinet Minister Uniyal, the cabinet has approved to hold the monsoon session of the Vidhan Sabha from 23 to 27 August in Dehradun.

-Airport Authority of India has been made a consultant for Green Field Airport of Pant Nagar to submit the DPR within 6 months.
