Uttarakhand health department issues advisory for HMPV
Uttarakhand is also on alert mode regarding Seasonal Influenza Human Metapneumo Virus (HMPV). An advisory has been issued by the Health Department regarding the disease. The Directorate General of Health has directed to ensure all other arrangements including isolation wards, beds, oxygen beds, ICU beds in all hospitals.
In the advisory issued by Director General of Health in charge Dr. Sunita Tamta, it was told that at present the symptoms of the disease have not been confirmed in any patient in Uttarakhand. Respiratory system disease is definitely spreading all over the world.
In this disease also, symptoms like cold and flu are found like other respiratory system diseases. Symptoms are also found in the disease like the symptoms of common cold. Which gets cured within three to five days.

In such a situation, there is no need to panic. As a precaution, necessary guidelines should be followed to prevent the disease. Instructions were given to all hospitals to ensure all necessary arrangements. Emphasis was laid on intensive monitoring of patients with symptoms at the hospital and community level.
Things to keep in mind
- Special care should be taken in children, elderly and people suffering from other serious diseases.
- Use handkerchief or tissue to cover nose and mouth while sneezing or coughing.
- Avoid going to crowded places, keep hands clean with soap and water.
- Take nutritious food while consuming more water and liquids.
- Consult a doctor immediately if you have symptoms of cold, cough or fever.
