Uttarakhand weather update: Rain alert for all districts
The Meteorological Department has issued a heavy rain alert for all the districts of Uttarakhand on August 10. A red alert has been issued for heavy rains in Nainital, Champawat, Udham Singh Nagar and Pauri districts on Thursday. Warning has also been issued for other districts. Along with the local administration, the Disaster Management Department has been alerted to take special precautions in these districts.
Releasing the forecast for the next 24 hours in the state, Meteorological Center Dehradun has issued different categories of alerts for all the 13 districts. Heavy rain is expected at some places especially in Nainital, Champawat, Udham Singh Nagar and Pauri districts. Apart from this, orange alert has been issued for heavy rains in Dehradunn, Tehri, Bageshwar, Pithoragarh and Almora districts and heavy rains in Haridwar, Chamoli, Rudraprayag as well as Uttarkashi district.
277 mm rain was registered in Kotdwar in 24 hours. 206 mm in Banbasa of Champawat and 203 mm rains were recorded in Kaladhungi. Apart from this, Tanakpur, Jeolikot, Nainital, Ramnagar, Haldwani, Yamkeshwar, Khatima, Pantnagar also recorded more than 100 mm of rain in the last 24 hours.
