Snowfall hampers reconstruction work in Kedarnath
Due to snowfall in Kedarnath for the last three days, 5 feet of snow has accumulated there. Due to heavy snowfall, 110 workers of PWD DDMA and Wood Stone have returned to Gaurikund. While around 58 people are still in Kedarnath. Reconstruction works in Kedarnath have stopped due to snowfall here.
On Thursday also, the weather in the district was bad. Since morning there had been heavy rain in the lower areas, while heavy snowfall is occurring at places like Kedarnath, Madmaheshwar, Tungnath, Chandrashila, Rambara, Lyncholi etc. On Thursday, 30 workers of Wood Stone, 80 workers of PWD DDMA have returned due to snowfall in Kedarnath. Workers have come back due to hampering of reconstruction work in Kedarnath. District Magistrate Mangesh Ghildiyal said that there were total 168 employees and laborers of Wood Stone, PWD DDMA, Police and Energy Corporation in Kedarnath. On Thursday, 110 people from Wood Stone and DDMA are back. He told that arrangements will be made for the laborers to stay in Gaurikund. As soon as there is less snow in Kedarnath, yhey will be sent again to Kedarnath for reconstruction work.
Weather in Kedarnath got very cold on Thursday. The workers and laborers living here are sitting in the rooms with the support of bonfire. In-charge of Wood Stone, said that arrangements are being made for the workers. Workers said that it has been snowing since last night. More than 5 feet of snow has fallen in Kedarpuri.
