Private and Government schools to remain closed in Uttarakhand till 31 March

Board exams to continue as scheduled

In the midst of a nationwide outcry over Coronavirus, the Uttarakhand government has decided to close all the government and private schools till 12th of the state till March 31. During this time only board examinations will continue. Apart from this, all schools will remain closed.

World Health Organization (WHO) has declared corona as an epidemic. After this Delhi and Haryana government has also decided to close all schools, colleges, cinema halls.

Due to this, on Thursday evening, Uttarakhand Education Secretary Meenakshi Sundaram has also issued orders to close all schools in the state. At the same time, the government can also take several major decisions on precautions taken against the virus on Friday.

 

A patient returned from PGI Chandigarh in Srinagar Garhwal was stunned after being admitted to the Corona Isolation Ward of the Government Medical College. The patient’s relatives say that they had brought the young woman to the hospital for dialysis, but she was admitted to the Corona ward by doctors. At the same time, doctors say that the patient was shifted to the precautionary ward. No symptoms of corona (COVID 19) have been seen in the patient. She has been referred to AIIMS Rishikesh for dialysis.

On Wednesday night, a girl from Handa village (Ghansali) in Tehri district was brought to the base hospital. The girl came here undergoing dialysis at PGI Chandigarh. She was coughing. When the Junior Resident Doctor of the Department of Medicine in Emergency came to know that she had come from PGI Chandigarh and was having difficulty breathing, he sent the patient to the Corona ward. There was a stir after a patient was admitted to the Corona ward. The hospital staff started doing duty by putting on a mask.

The girl’s father told that doctors in Chandigarh had told him that her daughter would need dialysis in a week. So he should get dialysis done at the nearest hospital, at which PGI Chandigarh sent him for dialysis at the Medical College Srinagar, but when he came here, the patient was admitted to the Corona ward.

Here, Nodal Officer / Head of Medicine Prof. KS Butola reported that the patient does not have fever. She has a cold. He was admitted to the isolation ward due to PGI coming from Chandigarh, as PGI had Corona cases. However, no signs of corona were found in this patient.
