Portals of Badrinath to be opened at 4:30 A.M on 15 May

The process of opening the doors of Badrinath Dham will start from 3 am on Friday morning. At 4:30 A.M, the portals of Badrinath Dham will be opened in Krishna Ashtami Tithi Dhanishta Nakshatra. Dr. Harish Gaur, media in-charge of Uttarakhand Chardham Devasthanam Board, said that on Thursday, Rawal Ishwar Prasad Namboodri from Pandukeshwar and Dharmadhikari Bhuvanchandra Uniyal along with Adi Guru Shankaracharyaji’s throne, Uddhavji, Kuberaji’s Doli have arrived at Badrinath. The temple has been decorated with more than 10 quintals of flowers by Shri Badrinath Pushp Seva Samiti of Rishikesh.

Everyone followed social distancing in the journey

The lockdown this year led to Rawal Namboodri, Dharmadhikari, representative of Dimri Panchayat, Badakadhikar taking care of social distancing and wearing masks in the Badrinath yatra from Pandukeshwar.

The process of opening the doors will begin at 3 am

Dr. Gaur told that from 3 o’clock tomorrow morning the process of opening the temple portals will begin. Kuberaji, Uddhavji Gadu pitcher will be kept in the temple premises from the south gate. After this, the process will begin to open the doors in the presence of Rawal, Dharmadhikari and the rightful occupants. The doors will be opened at exactly 4:30 A.M. After the opening of the doors, Idol of Godess Lakshmi will be placed in the temple located on the premises. This year there is a lockdown caused by the coronavirus. According to the information received from the SDM office of Joshi Math, only about 30 people will be present while opening the doors.
