Chardham Yatra 2024: Helicopter services for Badrinath and Hemkund to be available from these dates

Pilgrims coming to Badrinath Dham and Hemkund Sahib may soon get helicopter facility from Gauchar and Govind Ghat this time. This service will be available for three hours a day.

Heli service operation for Hemkund Sahib will start from May 25, while it is being considered to start the Heli service for Badrinath Dham from May 12. Civil Aviation Department Chief Executive Officer C. Ravi Shankar said, on the request of Badri-Kedar Temple Committee and Gurudwara Hemkund Sahib Trust, it has been decided to start helicopter services for these two pilgrimage sites this time.

Heli service will operate from Gauchar to Badrinath and Hemkund Sahib for three hours during the day when there is less crowd of devotees. He said that has been decided to start heli service for Hemkund Sahib from May 25, while for Badrinath Dham, talks will be held with the operator of the company. Depending on the consent of the operator, helicopter service will be started from May 12 or May 25. If this service is successful then it will be taken forward.
