Weather changed in Uttarakhand, snowfall after a long wait

Snowfall has started in the higher reaches of Uttarakhand. The sudden change in weather has increased the cold in the low-lying areas. Tourists, who were waiting for snowfall for the last several days, have now started reaching tourist places to enjoy the snowfall. Tourists are also enjoying adventure sports at the sports venues in Auli and Joshimath of Chamoli.

Snowfall in Chardham

Cold has started increasing after snowfall in the high altitude areas of Chamoli including Badrinath and Auli. The sun was shining bright in Chamoli for the last several days. But later in the day, there was a change in the weather in Chamoli and there was snowfall in the higher areas. Within no time, a white sheet of snow was spread all around. There was snowfall in Auli till 12th December, but after that the weather changed several times but there was no rain or snowfall. Due to which the high peaks became snowless. But now due to snowfall, tourists were also seen enjoying the snow in the tourist places.

On the other hand, after a long wait, snow has fallen in Kedarnath Dham. The Dham has received the first snowfall of the year. Due to snowfall in Kedarnath Dham for a long time and no rain in the low lying areas, people were worried due to cold wave in the entire district. The severity of cold has increased due to snowfall in the Dham. Along with ITBP soldiers, some saints and sages are living in the Dham. Snowfall albeit sparse is occurring in high altitude areas. But it has not rained in the low lying areas yet. Farmers are very worried due to lack of rain. Along with this, natural water sources have dried up. In such a situation, it is very important for rain to occur in the low-lying areas.

At the same time, due to sudden change in weather on Wednesday evening, there was light snowfall in Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham. The snowfall after a long wait has brought joy to the faces of the apple growers. Snowfall in the upper areas has decreased the temperatures due to cold winds blowing in the lower areas.
