The Trump administration’s move to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and decided to shift it’s embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem as received mixed response world over. While the West believes it is a positive move the Arab countries are not too happy with it.
Trump himself has released a video saying, How Bill Clinton, George Bush and Barack Obama continued to declare Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, but to avoided declaring it officially, while Trump delivered on his promise. 33 thousand people had liked this video within 3 hours.
A tweeted video by Trump has the speeches of Bill Clinton, George Bush and Barack Obama, in which these three appear to declare during their tenure that they will recognize Jerusalem as the Israeli capital. After his speeches, Trump looks like saying that they did not fulfill their promise, but he did.
Many American experts have praised Trump’s decision, saying that he did what the former president’s were also saying publicly. According to these experts, at least in this case we can see Trump as a politician who fulfills the promise of his manifesto. According to Jonathan Schanzer, vice president of the Foundation for Defense of Democracy, there may be a ruckus in the Islamic countries over Jerusalem, but those who oppose Trump’s decision can not ignore that Jerusalem is already Israel’s capital. There are important offices other than the Parliament, the Supreme Court, the Ministry of External Affairs in Jerusalem.
