Hurricane Dorian wrecks havoc in Bahamas

Hurricane Dorian has now moved to Florida after wreaking havoc in the Caribbean country of the Bahamas. Five people have died due to this, while 13,000 houses have been completely destroyed. It has now turned to Florida. On Monday, the storm situation in the Bahamas was such that rescuers had to hide themselves here and there.

Bahamas Prime Minister Hubert Minnis described Hurricane Dorian as the worst storm ever. The maximum damage is said to have been caused by high sea waves and strong winds. In view of its horrors, a large number of people are being moved to safer places on the east coast of America. According to the US-based National Center in Miami, its speed has decreased slightly and it has now come in the fourth category.

Grand Bahama minister Kwasi Thompson said the situation was very bad. Rescuers are also not in a position to do anything. Rescue work will accelerate as soon as the situation is under control. In many parts of the Grand Bahamas, water has reached the roofs of people. A woman has shared a video of her hitchhiking on the stairs of the second floor of her house.

The US National Hurricane Center reported that Hurricane Dorian is expected to become more powerful in the next few days. However, after this it will gradually weaken. People are in dire need of help in Grand Bahamas. Boats have broken due to the storm, houses have been razed and many trees have been uprooted. It is on course to become the second most powerful storm in the Atlantic basin.

Similarly, water has reached the homes of people in the Freeport area. Member of Parliament Darren Henfield said that there has been a massive devastation in Abaco, an island in the Bahamas. The US National Hurricane Center has issued a warning to be vigilant in the coastal areas of Florida and Georgia. The weather forecast states that the storm will remain off the coast. However, the storm’s path has still not been accurately estimated. It has been said that a slight change in the path of the storm could cause major catastrophe in Florida.
