Greta Thunberg gets nominated for Nobel Peace Prize 2020

Two Sweden MPs have nominated their country’s climate activist Greta Thunberg for the Nobel Peace Prize 2020. Left party members Jens Home and Håkan Savenling said on Monday that Thunberg had worked hard to open politicians’ eyes to reduce climate crisis emissions and to comply with the Paris Agreement, which is an initiative for peace. Last year, three Sweden MPs nominated Thunberg for the award.

The Paris Agreement of 2015 marks a milestone in tackling the climate crisis. It asked both the poor and rich nations to take steps to cut the changing patterns of rain, rising global temperatures to prevent melting of the glaciers.
