Temples being closed in Uttarakhand as precautionary measure

Due to the Coronavirus, there has been a kind of curfew situation in Garhwal and Kumaon. Apart from all the tourist places, temples are also being closed to prevent spread of disease. At the same time, no citizen will be able to enter the Indian border without a health check-up from Nepal border. Tourists and pilgrims will not be able to visit Siddhbali Baba temple, Kainchidham, Baijnath and Jageshwar till 31 March.

On Tuesday, orders have been given to close Almora’s monuments, archaeological sites and Archaeological Survey of India museums for tourists by 31 March. Following the advice of the Union Family Welfare Ministry, the Archaeological Survey of India has issued an order banning the movement of tourists in about 12 temples in the district, including Jageshwar Dham, Museum, Katarmal and Dwarahat.

The Central Archaeological Department has also banned the visit to Baijnath Dham. Due to this many tourists who came here returned without darshan. According to the rule of the temple, only the temple priests will worship in the morning and evening. After this, the doors of the temple will be closed. In addition, all educational activities are closed throughout Kumaon.

In this series, a three-day seminar on ‘Ancient Knowledge and Contemporary Universe: Swami Vivekananda, with special reference to Mahatma Gandhi and Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya’  from March 21 to 23 by the history department of the DSB campus has been postponed.

The Champawat DM has asked the CMO to make proper arrangements for the team of doctors posted at the health check-up center set up at Tanakpur barrage. He said that no person should be allowed to enter India from Nepal without a health test. Bookings of hotels are being canceled due to Coronavirus. Since Holi, hotel business in the Champawat district alone has fallen by 30 to 35 percent. The fear of the corona virus is such that there is silence even in the markets.

Siddhbali Baba temple closed for devotees till 31st

In view of the threat of Coronavirus, the administration has closed the famous Siddhbali Baba temple of Kotdwar for devotees till 31 March, while the priests of the temple will continue to offer prayers regularly in the temple.

Mass Ganga Aarti stopped on river bank in Rishikesh

In view of the outbreak of Corona, mass Ganga Aarti has been banned on the river bank in Rishikesh. District Magistrate Pauri Dhiraj Singh has issued orders. On the other hand, Uttarakhand’s famous fair Jhandeji, Maa Purnagiri has also been terminated ahead of time.

Ban on public functions at Swargashram till 31 March

Nagar Panchayat Swargashram administration has also issued instructions to all hotels, dharamshalas, ashrams operating in the area to stop public programs till 31 March. Apart from this, it has  banned to hold mass public Ganga Aarti and Yoga camps to be held on the Ganges Ghats. During this, Nagar Panchayat President Madhav Aggarwal distributed masks, gloves and sanitizer.
