Uttarakhand state govt withdraws one day salary reduction order

In the era of corona virus epidemic, nearly two and a half lakh workers of the state got relief. There will be no more one day cut in their salary every month from October 1. They will get full salary in the month of November. In this regard, the mandate has been issued on Monday.

The state government has given great relief to the employees and officials during the festive season. This important decision was taken by the Trivendra Singh Rawat cabinet on 14 October. Finance Secretary Amit Negi has issued a mandate in this regard so that there is no delay in implementing this decision. Due to the corona virus infection, the state’s financial situation was also under threat due to the lockdown in the first three months of the current financial year 2020-21 ie April, May and June. Economic pressure has increased on the government in view of the prevention of corona infection, health preparations and expansion of medical facilities in hospitals across the state.

In these circumstances, the government issued an order on May 29 to make a one-day reduction in the salaries of personnel of all departments of the state government, government and aided teaching, technical educational institutions, public corporations, undertakings, bodies, including All India Services. This amount being deducted was being deposited in the Chief Minister Relief Fund. Employee organizations were opposing this move of the government. At the same time, the pressure was also on the government to remove the slowdown in the market in the festive season. In view of this, this decision was taken.

However, all India services will continue to be deducted from the salary of IAS, IPS officers, IFS as well as Legislative Speaker, Chief Minister, Cabinet Members, Legislative Members, Ministers appointed in various Commissions, Corporations, Councils and other Ministers of State level, other liabilities.
