Electric buses to ply on streets of Doon from December 11 onwards

A big plan of Dehradun Smart City will be seen taking shape on the ground. The first electric bus will be seen running on the streets of the city from December 11 to make the city transport smart.

This bus will be operated as a trial. If the trial is successful, 30 electric buses will start operating in the city. Smart City Ltd. Has been planning smart transport in the city for a long time.

It also includes operation of 30 electric buses. They will also be friendly in terms of pollution due to being electric. Smart City CEO Dr. Ashish Kumar Srivastava said that a bus has been called for trial.

It will be tried on proposed routes of electric buses. If there are any shortcomings in the trial, then they will be removed. After this, other buses will be called.

He said that the Chief Minister will flag off the first bus to run as a trial on December 11 from his residence on December 11. After this the bus will run on different routes of the city. Only women will be able to sit on the bus during the trial.

Features of the bus

In this smart bus, stoppage information will be available in three languages. It includes Garhwali language along with Hindi and English. There are ramps for physically handicapped. The driver-conductor will be seen in Garhwali costumes.
