Uttarakhand Cabinet decides to open colleges in the state from Dec 15

The cabinet meeting of the Trivendra Rawat led BJP Government in Uttarakhand was held at the Secretariat on Wednesday. It has been decided in the meeting that higher educational institutions will be opened across the state from December 15. It is noteworthy that due to Corona in the state, higher educational institutions have been closed since March.

It was informed that Covid-19 guidelines will have to be strictly followed with the opening of educational institutions. If any staff or student gets infected, it will have to be reported to senior officials.

It is worth mentioning that the Uttarakhand government had already given permission to open schools for class X-XII. Subsequently, the government was involved in creating an SOP for the higher education institution.

In the last cabinet meeting, the Higher Education Department had also proposed to open the college after Diwali. The previous cabinet deferred the decision on this till the first week of December.

Apart from this, 29 pending proposals were discussed in the Cabinet, out of which 27 proposals have been approved by the government. Two proposals have been sent back. The government discussed cold storage for the corona vaccine.

It has been decided that the Covid vaccine will be given priority to front line warriors. In the first phase, 20 percent of the people will be given Covid-19 in Uttarakhand, people above 55 years, employees working in the front line will also be vaccinated.

 9 December Cabinet decisions:

– Chinese companies will not get tender in the state

– In the first phase, 20 lakh people will get the Covid vaccine vaccine

– BPL in cities, poor, water connection to people with less than 100 square meter area for Rs 100

– 44 medical departments approved in Doon Medical College

– Nearly 900 posts approved in Rudrapur Medical College

– Subordinate Selection Commission will be recruited for police, amendment made in the rules

– The deadline for pending VAT cases was extended, from 31 December to 31 January
