Makar Sankranti: Thermal scanners to be installed in Haridwar

The police administration has completed its preparations for the holy dip of Makar Sankranti in Haridwar tomorrow i.e. on Thursday. Thermal screening will be done at the border on the auspicious day. No one will be forcibly stopped. From the administration, the pilgrims are expected to bring only the report of Covid-19. Police personnel will be deployed along the border to follow the administration’s orders . On the other hand, the Health Department has made random checking arrangements on its behalf.

On Thursday, the first bath ahead of Kumbh is going to take place. For this, SOP has been issued by the district administration for people coming to Haridwar. An appeal has been made to the devotees to bring the last five day old RTPCR test. Those coming without a test will also be allowed to come to Haridwar. But no one will be allowed to come from the boundaries of Haridwar without thermal screening.

On behalf of the health department, duties of health workers have been imposed on the borders including Narsan, Chidiyapur, Bhagwanpur, Kali River, Saptarishi and other places. District Magistrate C Ravi Shankar has appealed to the people to maintain social distancing at the markets and the Ganga Ghats. Also, the administration has ordered the operators of hotels, dharamshalas, lodges not to permit anyone without screening. On the other hand, additional force has been deployed on the borders of the district on behalf of SSP.
