Mild tremor jolts Kumaon region

Earthquake tremors were felt at 4.38 pm in several areas of Pithoragarh and Bageshwar districts of Kumaon division of the state. Its intensity on the Richter scale recorded four magnitude. The epicenter of the earthquake is being reported as Nepal. It was 40 km below the ground surface. Earthquake tremors were felt in Tilla Johar, Didihat Askot, Thal, Pangla and Jauljibi including Munsiyari of Pithoragarh. Along with this, people came out of their homes in fear of earthquake.

At the same time, earthquake tremors were felt in many areas in Kapkot of Bageshwar. District Disaster Officer Shikha Suyal said that no damage was reported at the moment. Information is being collected from the district.

North India was shaken on this day on 12 February

Last Friday, on February 12, the tremors were felt in North India. Tajikistan was hit by a 6.3 magnitude earthquake at 10.34 pm, shaking the entire north India. Some houses were damaged in Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan and Delhi. Its tremors were felt in several districts of Garhwal division of Uttarakhand. People came out of the houses in fear at night. At the same time, after a week on Friday, people are frightened due to shaking again. However, no damage has been reported so far in Pithoragarh and Bageshwar.
