DPR prepared for cancer institute in Haldwani
The DPR of the proposed State Cancer Institute in Haldwani city of Uttarakhand has been prepared. It has been sent to the government. This DPR has been prepared by Bridge Ropeway Tunnel and Other Infrastructure Development Corporation of Uttarakhand Limited (BRIDCUL). It mentions the cost of 86 crores for the construction of the institute. The institute will have 19 departments including nuclear medicine for the treatment of cancer patients. The institute itself will have all kinds of facilities from blood bank to testing.
Swami Ram Cancer Institute is run under Medical College. About seven years ago, there was a plan to upgrade it to the State Cancer Institute. For this, the Union Health Ministry is also ready to provide financial help, but due to technical issues like forest land etc., the matter could not move forward.
Many departments will open, a ward of hundred beds will be made
19 departments will be opened in the State Cancer Institute. There will be nuclear medicine, medicine oncology etc. A blood bank is also proposed in the institute. There is also a plan to build a 120-bed ward and ICU in the institute. A night shelter is also proposed for the stay of the attendants. Arrangements related to power supply, security have also been included in the plan.
Multiple tests will be available
All types of testing facilities will be mobilized in the institute. There will be a radiology department, where CT scan, MRI, ultrasound etc. can be done. There will also be labs for pathology, microbiology and biochemistry. With this, blood tests etc. will be able to be done at one place.
The issue of land has also progressed
Presently Swami Ram Cancer Institute is built on reserved forest land. The proposal for regularization of this land has gone ahead. After the payment of penalty, the process of compensatory afforestation is going on. For the construction of State Cancer Institute, more than four hectares of forest land is needed, its proposal has also reached the nodal office of forest land transfer.
The DPR of the State Cancer Institute has been prepared. It has been sent to the government. The institute will have several departments. Apart from this, facilities related to many types of treatment will be at one place.
