Makar Sankranti 2022: Holy dip prohibited as Corona cases rise

Today is Makar Sankranti festival. Due to corona infection, the police administration has banned taking a dip on the auspicious occasion. A large number of police forces are deployed in Harki Pauri area. The Harki Pauri area has been sealed. The devotee were not visible at Harki Pauri area. However, people were seen taking a dip in Ganga at some other ghats.

In view of the corona infection, the district administration has banned the Makar Sankranti bath to be held today. All the routes were sealed from 12 midnight to prevent devotees from reaching Harki Pauri and other Ganga Ghats.

Makar Sankranti festival is being celebrated today when the Sun enters Capricorn zodiac. With this, auspicious work will also start. It is considered best to bathe in the Ganges and do charity on this day. This time Rohini Nakshatra, Brahma Yoga and Anandadi Yoga are being formed on Makar Sankranti. Because of this, this Makar Sankranti is special.
