New guidelines issued for travelers coming from abroad

Corona cases are increasing rapidly in the country. According to the report released by the Ministry of Health on Friday morning, more than one lakh cases have been reported in a day. In such a situation, many restrictions have been imposed to bring the infection under control. Meanwhile, guidelines have been issued for the people coming from abroad. According to this, people will have to compulsorily stay in home quarantine for seven days. These rules will be applicable from January 11 till further orders. A total of 19 countries are included in the list of ‘at-risk’ countries. Passengers here will have to follow additional rules. This also includes testing after arrival. The Government of India has given this information.

Including Britain, other countries in the list of ‘at-risk’ countries are South Africa, Brazil, Botswana, China, Ghana, Mauritius, New Zealand, Zimbabwe, Tanzania, Hong Kong, Israel, Congo, Ethiopia, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Nigeria, Tunisia and Zambia. According to the order issued by the Ministry of Health on Friday, passengers coming from at-risk category countries will have to give samples for corona test. They will have to wait for the report at the airport.

If the report comes negative, they will have to stay in home quarantine for seven days. RT-PCR test will have to be done on the eighth day of arrival in India. Its report will have to be uploaded on the Air Suvidha Portal. If negative, they will have to self-monitor their health for the next seven days. However, if anyone is found infected, their sample will be sent for genomic sequencing.

Those found infected will be kept in isolation centres. They will be treated as per the prescribed protocol including contact tracing. The people who came in contact with them will have to stay in home quarantine under the supervision of the concerned state government as per the protocol. Children below five years of age are exempted from testing before and after arrival.
