In view of the demand of passengers traveling in short time, all Volvo bus services from Dehradun to Delhi have been made non-stop from Friday by Roadways. Now 15 Volvo’s will be operated daily from 5 am to 12.45 pm. These buses will cover the distance from Doon to Delhi in around four hours. From last October, the roadways started trial run of five nonstop valves between Dehradun and Delhi. These buses are taking less time than the train. Normally it takes six to seven hours to travel by bus to Delhi. Since the nonstop Volvo will go via Expressway, their fare has also been increased. Till now their fare was Rs 772, which will now be Rs 799.

KP Singh, Assistant General Manager, Deluxe Depot of Roadways said that till now 23 Volvo’s were being operated for Delhi, out of which five were running under nonstop. Apart from this, two buses are running Doon-Delhi-Gurugram. Now the number of buses has been reduced. Now 15 Volvo will run for Delhi, while the remaining two will run for Gurugram. All Volvo non stop buses of Delhi and both Gurugram buses will continue to operate via Roorkee-Muzaffarnagar to Meerut-Ghaziabad. Nonstop Volvo bus service will reach Delhi ISBT through expressway via Roorkee, Muzaffarnagar, Meerut bypass. Assistant General Manager KP Singh said that earlier the fare of nonstop Volvo was not increased because all the toll plazas were closed due to the farmers’ agitation. Now all the toll plazas have opened, so the fare has been increased by Rs 27 per passenger.
