Doors of sanctum sanctorum at Jageshwar temple to be opened for devotees after nearly 2 years

After nearly two years, the doors of the sanctum sanctorum of all the major temples in Jageshwar Dham will open for the devotees from today i.e. Sunday, February 27. Now the devotees coming from the country and abroad will be able to reach the sanctum sanctorum and perform Jalabhishek of Lord Bholenath. Due to this lakhs of devotees and local priests who have breathed a sigh of relief.

In view of the corona infection, in May 2020, the entry of devotees was banned in the sanctum sanctorum of major temples like Jageshwar, Mahamrityunjay, Pushti Devi, Kedarnath etc. Due to this, devotees were not able to reach the inner sanctum for two years and perform Jalabhishek of Lord Shiva. Alternative arrangements for worship and various religious rituals were made by the priests by putting up tents in the open courtyard of the temple.

For a long time, the priests were vocal on the demand to open the sanctum sanctorum of the temple to the common devotees. Regarding this, a meeting was held with the priests under the chairmanship of SDM Gopal Chauhan in Gurudabanj tehsil on Saturday. It was decided that from Sunday the sanctum sanctorum of the temple will be opened for the devotees.

Instructions have been given to open the doors of the sanctum sanctorum of the temples of Jageshwar Dham for the devotees. Devotees will have to follow the Covid protocol.
