Bus travel to be costlier in Uttarakhand as state transport authority hikes rates

Uttarakhand State Transport Authority has implemented the fare rates hiked by the State Transport Authority with immediate effect. Implementing the new rates from Saturday, buses were dispatched on the route. The fare has been increased from Rs 10 to 60 on major plains routes from Haldwani.

In this, going to Dehradun and Haridwar has become the most expensive for the passengers, while the journey from Haldwani to Ramnagar in Nainital district has become costlier by Rs 20. Indira Bhatt, senior station in-charge of Haldwani depot, told that to go to Dehradun, now instead of 440, Rs 500 will have to be paid.

Whereas instead of 340 for Haridwar, Rs 385 will have to be paid. Apart from this, the fare from Haldwani to Ramnagar has become Rs 100. At the same time, for Nainital, now a fare of Rs 85 will have to be paid.
