Yellow weather alert for 2 districts in Uttarakhand

The weather remained clear in Uttarakhand on Tuesday. There was bright sunshine in all parts of the state. But in the afternoon, there was relief from the heat due to rain in Dehradun. At the same time, the Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert of heavy rain in Dehradun and Tehri. Also, there is a possibility of light rain in Uttarkashi, Tehri, Chamoli and Pithoragarh districts.

On the other hand, Kumarkheda near Narendranagar bypass on Rishikesh-Gangotri National Highway (NH 94) is closed for traffic for the third day today. Due to the landslide caused by the rock here, boulders have fallen on the road continuously. There is a continuous landslide from the hill. Under the alternative arrangement, small vehicles are being operated from the road of Police Training College. At the same time, vehicles are also being operated from Narendranagar Ranipokhari motorway. But the movement of big vehicles is still closed.

Traffic from Rishikesh to Chamba has come to a complete standstill. Due to which the passengers as well as the vehicle owners are facing a lot of problems. Large and small vehicles are stuck on both sides of the road due to the closure of the road. At the same time, the problems of the general public are seen increasing due to non-availability of food items. Commuters traveling from Rishikesh to Chamba, Uttarkashi and Ghansali are facing a lot of trouble due to the Gangotri road closure. Travelers have to rely on longer alternative routes like Mussoorie-Dhanaulti, Kirtinagar-Dugadda,  Vikasnagar-Barkot to travel from Rishikesh to Chamba, Uttarkashi and Ghansali.
