Meerut-Pauri highway gets cabinet minister approval

The journey time from Delhi to Pauri Garhwal is soon going to reduce considerably. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has approved about Rs 2,500 crore for the 126 km long Delhi-Meerut-Pauri highway to make the travel easier. With the construction of this highway, Pauri Garhwal district of Uttarakhand will be directly connected to Meerut & NCR via Bijnor.

In the year 2020, the work of making four laning was started on the Meerut to Pauri National Highway. The construction work is going on fast on this. The distance from Meerut to Pauri National Highway is about 126 kms. Due to the sanctuary area from Bijnor to Bahsuma, the construction of the highway of about 40 kilometers was stopped. Gadkari informed about the approval of funds for the construction of the highway from Bijnor to Bahsuma.

Another bridge will be built on the Bijnor barrage, which is also included in the four-lane project. Now after getting the NOC from the Forest Ministry, its construction will also start soon. A gap of about 500 meters will be kept between the existing barrage and the new bridge.
