Uttarakhand Assembly Session: Opposition did not reach the House on Day 3, proceedings adjourned for some time

Today is the third day of the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly session. Demonstration of Congress MLAs continues outside the Vidhan Sabha over the issue of corruption in the recruitment examination. The opposition did not turn up for the session, due to which the House was adjourned till 11.15 a.m. even before the commencement of the proceedings.

Congress is demanding a CBI inquiry into the corruption in recruitment examinations. On the other hand, the budget of the Dhami government will be presented in Bharadisain assembly on Wednesday. Finance Minister Premchand Aggarwal will present the budget at 2 pm. A budget of Rs 79 thousand crore is estimated for the financial year 2023-24. The state cabinet has already approved the budget proposal.

Earlier, on the second day of the Uttarakhand budget session, the Governor’s address was discussed along with the legislative work. At the same time, as soon as the proceedings started, the the opposition was ready with its questions from the government. Firstly, the opposition raised the issue of unemployment and created an uproar in the House over the recruitment scam and the demand for increase in the price of sugarcane.

Some members also broke the table and tore the rule bull. Due to which 15 MLAs were suspended from the session for a day.
