Preliminary selection trials organized today at Narendra Nagar for sports colleges in Dehradun and Pithoragarh
Preliminary selection trials were organized today at Narendra Nagar Tehri Garhwal for admission in Maharana Pratap Sports College Dehradun and Hari Singh Thapa Sports College in Pithoragarh.
District Sports Officer, Sanjeev Kumar Pauri from Tehri Garhwal gave information that for the academic session 2023-24, preliminary selection trials were organized today in Narendra Nagar district of Tehri Garhwal for admission in athletics, football, and boxing in class 6 in Maharana Pratap Sports College, Dehradun and in football, boxing, and athletics games in class 6 in Hari Singh Thapa Sports College, Pithoragarh. Four children including 1 in athletics game, 2 in football game, and 1 in cricket game participated in the trials. Based on the selection trials, a boy named Saksham Singh Rawat was selected in athletics for the final selection trial which will be held in Dehradun. The selection trial was conducted by the selection team of Maharana Pratap Sports College, where trainers such as Pradeep Kaushal, Pankaj Rawat, Prakash Bhatt, Anuj Negi, Harpreet Singh along with Ramesh Panwar, Ramesh Sharma, Pradeep, etc. were present.
He said that a child desirous of taking admission in Maharana Pratap Sports College should play any one of the prescribed eight sports – athletics, football, volleyball, boxing, cricket, hockey, badminton, judo where they receive specialized training.Here, along with specialized training in the above eight sports, the syllabus prescribed by the Education Department is taught.
