Uttarakhand weather: Avalanche alert issued for high altitude areas
Chamoli district of Uttarakhand has received intermittent rain and snowfall in the peaks of Badrinath, Hemkund for the last 24 hours. The Meteorological Department has warned of avalanches in the high altitude areas in the next 24 hours.
According to the information received from the District Disaster Management Authority office, Avalanche alert has been inssued in areas with a height of 3500 meters.
Cold increased due to rain and snowfall
It rained intermittently throughout yesterday, in Chamoli district as well, due to which cold is being felt. Due to rain and snowfall, there are problems regarding the preparations for the pilgrimage to Badrinath Dham. The laborers of the temple committee are engaged in the work of Yatra preparations including decorations in Dham.
Yellow alert issued regarding rain and hailstorm
According to the Meteorological Center, there may be partly cloudy sky in most areas of the state on Sunday. There are chances of light rain at some places. There may be light snowfall on the peaks.
