9 dead in road accident in Pithoragarh
A major road accident has taken place in Munsiyari block of Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand. A car with passengers fell into a 500 meter deep gorge. Nine people have died, while two people have been injured. Police team and ITBP personnel have reached the spot.
According to information, a Bolero car going from Sama in Bageshwar district to Hokra in Pithoragarh district met with an accident and fell into a 500 meter deep gorge. Nine people died on the spot in this accident, whose bodies have been recovered. Two people are said to be injured.
The police and rescue team were informed of the accident by other drivers passing by. Police, revenue and disaster relief rescue teams reached the accident site which is a very remote area.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has expressed condolences on the painful accident in Pithoragarh.
