Schools in Dehradun to remain closed on July 11 after heavy rain alert

The district administration has declared 1 day holiday for July 11 for schools in Dehradun district after heavy rainfall was forecast for the region. Tomorrow, i.e July 11 all private and government schools from class 1 to class 12 in Dehradun will remain closed. According to District Magistrate Sonika, a red alert for heavy rains has been issued by the Meteorological Department.

Hence, the district administration has issued orders to close schools  from class 1st to 12th on July 11. While there will be a holiday at Anganwadi centers as well. According to officials, many times it does not rain in the morning as per the alert, like today but it has been raining since afternoon in the city. Therefore, the administration does not want to take any risk. The Chief Education Officer has been directed to ensure closure of all schools from Anganwadi to Pre, Play to 12th tomorrow.
