Dehradun and Haridwar District Magistrates have issued orders that in view of the Meteorological Department’s alert, all the schools and Anganwadi centers will remain closed till class 12 tomorrow, i.e 23 August, 2023. Instructions have been given to the Education Department to follow orders strictly.
As per the order, ‘According to the weather forecast issued by the India Meteorological Department, Dehradun on August 22, 2023, a red alert has been issued for thunder and lightning / heavy to very heavy rainfall in Dehradun district on August 23, 2023. At present, in view of moderate to heavy rainfall in all the areas of the district, the possibility of landslides increases in sensitive places. Due to this, any kind of unpleasant incident can happen. Therefore, in view of disaster mitigation, one day holiday is declared on 23.08.2023 in all educational institutions and Anganwadi centers operating from class 01 to 12 of the district.’
Therefore, all Anganwadi centers along with all government / non-government and private schools in the district will remain closed on 23.08.2023.
