Novak Djokovic reaches quarter finals of US Open for 13th time in career

Star tennis player Novak Djokovic has reached the quarterfinals of the US Open, the last Grand Slam of the year. He has reached the quarter-finals of the tournament for the 13th time. With this, Djokovic has equaled the records of tennis greats Roger Federer and Andre Agassi.

Djokovic to face Fritz in the quarterfinals

23-time Grand Slam winner Djokovic defeated 105th-ranked Croatian qualifier Borna Gojo in straight sets 6-2, 7-5, 6-4 in the fourth round.

Three-time US Open winner Djokovic will face American number-1 player Taylor Fritz in the last-8. Fritz has reached the last-8 of the US Open for the first time.

Ostapenko beats Swiatek

Swiatek, winner of four Grand Slams, crashed out of the US Open after losing 6-3, 3-6, 1-6 to world No. 21 Jelena Ostapenko in the women’s singles round of 16.

Ostapenko made a stunning comeback after losing the first set in a match that lasted 1 hour 48 minutes. Now in the quarterfinals on Tuesday, she will face America’s sixth seed Coco Gauff who defeated a resurgent Caroline Wozniacki in the round of 16.
