Indian squad for 5 match T20 series against Australia announced

The Indian team has been announced for the 5 T-20 match series against Australia. Suryakumar Yadav has been made the captain of this team, while experienced wicketkeeper batsman Sanju Samson has not got a chance.

In the team released on Monday, 3 players from the ODI World Cup team that ended a day earlier have got a place, these include Suryakumar, Ishan Kishan and Prasidh Krishna. Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Bumrah and Jadeja have been rested. Whereas Shreyas Iyer has been made the vice-captain for the last 2 T20s. Ruturaj Gaikwad will be the vice captain in the first 3 matches.

The T-20 series against Australia starts from 23 November. The first match will be played in Visakhapatnam. This series will end on December 3 in Bengaluru.

A day earlier, the Australian team had defeated India by 6 wickets in the final match of the ODI World Cup 2023. The Aussies team has won the ODI World Cup title for the sixth time.

Unbeaten in 13 T-20 series on home ground

The Indian team has not lost the last 13 T-20 series on its home grounds. The team’s last defeat was against Australia in 2019. Then the Kangaroo team had made a clean sweep in the 2-match series.
