Char Dham Yatra 2026: Doors of Kedarnath to open on April 22
The doors of Kedarnath Dham will be opened this year on April 22, 2026 at 8:00 AM as per Vedic rituals. The date for opening was decided after prayers were offered at the Omkareshwar Temple in the presence of Jagadguru Bhimashankar Ling, the Rawal of Kedarnath, on the occasion of Mahashivratri.
Bhairavnath Puja will be performed on April 18th. On April 19th, the Chal Utsav Doli will depart from Omkareshwar Temple, the winter seat of Ukhimath, towards Phata. On April 20th, the Doli will rest overnight at Gaurikund, after which it will reach Kedarnath on April 21st.
The doors of Badrinath Dham will open on April 23rd
The doors of Badrinath Dham will open on April 23rd at 6:15 AM during the Brahmakaal Muhurta. The date for opening of the doors of Badrinath Dham was announced on Vasant Panchami.
The doors of the Gangotri and Yamunotri temples will open on Akshaya Tritiya
It is noteworthy that the doors of the Gangotri and Yamunotri temples open on Akshaya Tritiya. April 19th is Akshaya Tritiya. The opening time will be determined later in the presence of the temple committee.
