Supplementary budget passed in Uttarakhand Assembly winter session
The seven-day winter session of the Uttarakhand Assembly has started from Tuesday. As soon as the proceedings of the House began, the Congress demanded a discussion on law and order. Some Congress MLAs sat on a protest outside the House. Finance Minister Premchand Aggarwal placed the supplementary budget of Rs 4867 crore on the floor of the House at 4 pm.
During the proceedings of the House, the opposition got angry when the question of Congress MLA from Haldwani Sumit Hridayesh was postponed. Sumit Hridayesh had raised the question of Chief Minister’s announcement for construction of Ring Road. On this, the ruling party said that the Ring Road is being constructed under NHAI. MLA Pritam Singh Panwar asked the government regarding Garhwali Kumaoni Jaunsari dialect, what preparations are being made for its promotion.
Jhabreda MLA Narendra raised the issue of Iqbalpur canal project in the assembly. In 2013-14, this project was approved. But this canal project has not been completed till date. About 75 villages of this area will be benefited by irrigation from this project. This project is stuck between UP-Uttarakhand.
On the other hand, Irrigation Minister Satpal Maharaj said in the House that a new arrangement will be made to remove the dirt spread in Tehri lake. Arrangements are being made to remove wood, animal carcass and garbage during the rainy season.
