Uttarakhand weather update: Fog forecast in plains
The Meteorological Department has forecast moderate to dense fog in some parts of the plains of the state, especially in Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar districts. At the same time, there is a possibility of frost at some places in the hilly districts. Yellow alert has been issued in the state regarding fog and frost.
According to the Meteorological Department, the weather will remain dry for the next four-five days, but due to fog and frost, the vehicle drivers may have to face difficulties. Visibility below the minimum threshold at airports can affect aircraft landing and take-off. According to Vikram Singh, Director of the Meteorological Department, after January 16, another fresh Western Disturbance can be effective in the western Himalayan region of Uttarakhand. This is likely to worsen the weather again.
Early morning rain in Doon
In Dehradun city, the temperature decreased after heavy rains in the early hours of Wednesday, but the weather remained normal due to good sunshine in the afternoon. Dehradun recorded 12.8 mm of rain in the last 24 hours. The maximum temperature in Dehradun was 21.2 degrees Celsius, which was two degrees above normal. Whereas, the minimum temperature was 10 degrees Celsius, which was 4 degrees below normal. According to the Meteorological Department, there will be mixed weather in Dehradun for the next few days. On January 13, 14 and 15, the sky will be clear. Whereas, there is a possibility of partly cloudy sky on 16, 17, 18.
