Dehradun Spring Festival 2023: Vasantotsav 2023 to be held in first week of March
Vasantotsav 2023 will be held at Raj Bhavan on March 3, 4 and 5. For the first time, 186 awards will be given in 16 different categories in the three-day Vasantotsav.
Uttarakhand Governor Lt. Gen. Gurmeet Singh (Retd.) has given instructions to set up a food court with the help of women self-help groups of the state. Preference will be given to coarse grains. For the first time, there will also be competitions on Roof Top Gardening, Bonsai Gardening and Honey Processing.
Decisions regarding Vasantotsav 2023 were taken at Raj Bhavan on Monday under the chairmanship of Governor Lt. Gen. Gurmeet Singh (Retd.) . The Governor asked to ensure participation of more persons in this event. He said that private participation should be encouraged instead of being an official event.

The Governor instructed to set up a food court in Vasantotsav with the help of women self-help groups along with IHM and GMVN. Honey production, perfume, aromatic plants, medicinal herbs will also be encouraged in this event. Entrepreneurs and farmers doing excellent work in horticulture, floriculture, honey production, herbs, organic farming will be honored.
The Governor said that Uttarakhand would emerge as a major destination in the field of floriculture. This event should be established as a platform for farmers and producers. It was told in the meeting that the flower show will be open for the general public on March 3 from 1 pm to 6 pm and on March 4 and 5 from 9 am to 6 pm.
Folk artists in collaboration with the Culture Department will show glimpses of the rich cultural heritage of the state. There will also be flower exhibition and competition of various government gardens including commercial, private flower growers, flower based Rangoli competitions. Photo exhibition, painting and exhibition of special postage stamps based on flowers and natural beauty will also be organized. There will also be on the spot photography.
