Ram mandir inauguration: Grand procession in Doon; traffic to be diverted on Jan 20

There is an atmosphere of enthusiasm across the country regarding the consecration of Ram Lalla in Ayodhya. The enthusiasm of the devotees is at its peak even in the capital Dehradun. A grand procession will be taken out in the city on Saturday January 20, due to which the traffic of the city will be diverted. At the same time, parking plan has also been issued.

Police has appealed to all the drivers going from Rajpur and Raipur Road to Chakrata Road to use Dilaram to Cantt road and from Araghar to Prince Chowk to go to Chakrata Road. Also, all the general public should use alternative routes to reach Parade Ground, Ghantaghar, Darshanlal Chowk, Rajpur Road, EC Road, Buddha Chowk area from 12 to 3 pm.

  • Empty ground on Mall Road in front of The Doon School (parking for heavy vehicle buses)
  • Bannu School Racecourse (parking for heavy vehicle buses)

Drop off points

  • Ghantaghar (all buses coming from Chakrata Road)
  • Survey Chowk (Buses coming from Rajpur/Raipur/Haridwar Road)
  • Buddha Chowk (Buses coming from Saharanpur Road)
