Center grants Rs 16 crore for Dehradun Smart city project

For the first time in about 10 months after the selection of Doon in Smart City, it seems the wheels have been set in motion to make Dehradun a smart city. 16 crore rupees for the Dehradun Smart City Ltd. has been released. Simultaneously, the company’s CEO Dilip Javalkar has demanded a similar amount from the state government.

According to CEO Dilip Jawalkar, a few days ago the state government had released a grant of Rs 3 crore. With this amount, the office is being set up in a portion of Ground and First Floor on the Swastik Tower on Kaulagarh Road. Now after the release of 16 crore rupees from the center, interviews are being held in the middle of the six to nine May for various positions. Smart City Company has also selected Almonce Company as a consultant company, which will also start working in Doon from May 1. An initial report will be sought within 15 days of starting the company’s work. On the basis of which the work will be done in the first phase under the Smart City scheme.
In the smart city, Doon was selected in June, while in July, Dehradun Smart City Ltd.  company was formed and in August IAS officer Dilip Javalkar was made its CEO. After this, the company has long been waiting for the budget and now the company has overcome the drought to some extent on the budget. However, this amount is also very low, because in the first phase, the company had to get Rs 100 crore from the center and the same amount from the state.
