E-bus service started from Delhi to Chandigarh, Jaipur & Dehradun

Electric bus (e-bus) service with all modern facilities including mobile charging point, water, tissues, comfortable seats, CCTV cameras was started from Monday. Principal Secretary and Transport Commissioner Ashish Kundra and Green Cell CEO Devendra Chawla flagged off the buses from Kashmiri Gate (ISBT), New Delhi. At present, 50 buses will ply daily for Chandigarh, Jaipur and Dehradun. Soon premium e-bus service will be started for Agra and thereafter for other cities of the country including Lucknow, Amritsar. This is the first interstate e-bus service to start from Delhi.

On the occasion of the launch of the service, Devendra Chawla, CEO of Green Cell Mobility said that electric bus service has been started from Delhi to Chandigarh, Jaipur and Dehradun. He claimed that this is the first e-bus service from Delhi to another city. Initiatives have been taken in this direction in many other cities including Bhopal-Indore. Special attention has been given to the safety of customers and punctuality in buses.

Soon bus service will also be started between Delhi-Agra. In the next six months, bus service will be started for other cities of the country including Lucknow, Amritsar. Buses will be available for these cities at an interval of every one hour. For this, charging infrastructure will also be installed inside the ISBT premises. NueGo’s premium lounge will offer food and beverages to passengers in an air-conditioned environment. The CEO said that the operation of e-buses has been started in the direction of making the country pollution free.
