23 year old woman murdered in Dehradun
On Tuesday night, car borne assailants shot & killed a woman who was going home from work. After the incident, the attacker escaped. The police started a thorough investigation by blocking the city, but the attacker could not be caught. SSP Nivedita Kukrati told that the deceased woman was identified as Samarjahan alias Rihanna (23) was originally from Muzaffarnagar. She started living here in a flat 15 days ago. She was staying here in a live-in relationship with Rakesh Gupta. According to the SSP, the woman ran a restaurant called Mount Grill near the Pacific Golf State on Sahastradhara Road. She was also a boutique owner.
According to eyewitnesses, on Tuesday night, at around 8.55 pm, Samarjhan was heading towards her flat when a car placed right next to her scooter near her flat. At the stop of the scooter, the car rider shot at Samarjahan. After the firing, Samarjahan fell down from the scooter and an attacker car rider escaped from the spot. Drenched in blood she ran for about 500 hundered meters before her attackers hit her with another bullet. Meanwhile local people informed the incident to the police. Police of other police stations, including Rajpur Police Station, also reached the spot. The woman was immediately taken to Max Hospital, where she was declared dead. SSP Nivedita Kukrati, SP City Shweta Chaubey, CO Lokjit Singh also arrived on the spot. The SSP also inspected the site of the incident and questioned the people around. The police has not yet detected the cause of the murder. SSP Nivedita Kukrati said that efforts are being made to arrest the murderer.
