Jhanda Ji Mela 2020 begins in Dehradun
Dehradun’s historic Shri Jhandeji’s fair will begin today (March 13). This morning, the program to begin Jhanda Ji started. In the presence of Mahant Devendra Das Ji Maharaj of Darbar Sahib, Shri Jhandeji was bathed with curd, ghee, Gangajal and Panchamrit. At five o’clock in the evening Shri Jhandeji will be mounted. To see this historical moment, the masses of hundreds of Sangat people is expected.
In Sri Darbar Sahib, there was a procession of Sangatans arriving till late night on Thursday. Sangatas have reached from Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh and many parts of South India. From morning onwards, the devotees continued to perform prayers and circumambulation of Shri Jhandeji.
Fair administrator KC Juyal said that preparations for Shri Jhandeji’s ascension have been completed. Hundreds of servicemen have been appointed, who are entrusted with the important responsibilities of maintaining order. Today, with the ascension of Shri Jhandeji, a month-long Jhanda Ji fair will begin in Dehradun.
This time, Shri Jhandeji’s ascent is special
The ascension of Shreezhandeji on Friday is special in many respects. This time the flag penalty of Mr. Jhandeji will be changed. Bhupendra Raturi, Senior Public Relations Officer of Shri Darbar Sahib said that as per tradition, the flag penalty of Shri Jhandeji is changed every three years.
This moment is amazing. There is a lot of enthusiasm among the devotees to see this moment. The the new flag will be 105 feet high, which will be the highest height of Mr. Jhandeji yet.
Maharaj Ji gave Guru mantra to the companions
On the eve of the fair, the Sangathas visited Mahant Devendra Das Ji Maharaj and took his blessings. Mahant ji gave Guru mantra to the Sangatas. During this time he explained the importance of Guru Mahima. It is said that Guru is considered as another form of God on earth. If the disciple walks the path instructed by the Guru, then there is a feeling of heaven on earth.
Maharaj Ji called upon the companions to eradicate social evils like female feticide, intoxication and dowry. At the same time, he was also motivated to conserve the environment, conserve water and respect the elders. Sangatas resolved to make Guru Mantra a life blessed by imbibing Guru Mantra.
Health check up of every person
In view of the outbreak of Corona, advisory has been issued for rescue at Jhanda Jifair.There are several safety measures to make the devotees aware of the desiease. On this occassion a hospital has also been set up at Darbar Sahib.
Thermal scanners have also been installed at the two main gates of Darbar Sahib. Health check-ups are being done for everyone who gets admission. A team of expert doctors has also been deployed in the hospital to deal with the emergency, which will provide 24-hour services.
