Passport facilities to be available in post offices of 6 cities in Uttarakhand

The path to open a passport service center in six main post offices in Uttarakhand has become clear. In the state, the passport centers will be opened in the main post offices located in Almora, Rudrapur, Nainital, Roorkee, Kathgodam and Pauri.

Work is going on fast these days due to the opening of a passport center in all the proposed post offices. According to sources, in the month of March, the passport center will start its work in Almora and Nainital post offices. However, Pauri is still skeptical about when it will start work in the main post office. These days officials of Uttarakhand Post Circle and Regional Passport Office, Dehradun are working to complete the final formalities with passport centers. This is the reason that biometric machines have been kept ready in the regional passport office for six post offices in the state.

Passport Service Center will be within 50 km radius

The Ministry of External Affairs has set a goal to set up a passport service center every 50 kilometers radius in every state of the country. Under this, six passport service centers are to be opened in Uttarakhand. From where people can easily get a passport and get it on time. Initially the passport office in the Post Office Passport Seva Kendra will teach all the work related to passport to the postal workers. Regional passport officer Rishi Angra said that the Post Office Passport Seva Kendra, which will open in Uttarakhand, will be first inspected. The existing facilities will be examined. Passport related work will be started in post offices only after receiving the order from the Ministry of External Affairs.
