Traffic plan issued for Dussehra at Parade ground, Dehradun

This time the Dussehra organizing Committee is worrking full force to make Dussehra celebration grand on 5th October at Parade Ground of Dehradun. The effigy of Ravana has been made 65 feet high in the 75th Dussehra festival to be held after two years due to corona. Apart from this, the effigies of Kumbhakarna and Meghnath are also being made a little higher than last time, giving a grand look.

This time the effigy of Kumbhakarna will be 60 feet and the height of Meghnath’s effigy will be 55 feet. In this regard, the head of the Dussehra Committee Bannu Biradari, Santokh Nagpal, said that on October 4, the effigies of all three (Ravana, Meghnath and Kumbhakarna) would be erected in the ground. 35 artisans have come from Mahendragarh in Haryana to prepare the effigies.

On October 5, at five o’clock, the procession from the fish market Kali temple will reach the parade ground. Ravana’s effigy will be set ablaze at 6.05 pm.

Zero zone will be around from 2 o’clock till late night

Due to the celebration of Dussehra, many routes of the city will be changed on October 5. A big event is to be held at the Parade Ground on October 5. For this, the route diversion system will be applicable from 2 pm till the end of the program. Apart from this, processions are also to be taken out on many routes. In view of this also, barrier and diversion system will be implemented on many routes. SP Traffic Aksay Prahlad Konde has also appealed to the public to use alternate routes. So that, traffic and law and order can be maintained.

The procession will start from its destination at 2 pm and will reach the parade ground at 4 pm.

Route of procession: Kalika Mandir, Moti Bazar, Paltan Bazar, Rajpur Road, will reach the Parade Ground from Kanak Chowk via Ashtley Hall, there will be zero zone for all types of vehicles around the Parade Ground.
