Prime Minister Modi to inaugurate “Destination Uttarakhand: Investors Summit 2018”

· Investors Summit to be organised in first week of October

· Chief Minister launches Brand Logo and Website for Summit

· 12 main areas to be focus for investment

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the “Destination Uttarakhand: Investors Summit 2018” to be held in the first week of October. Main programme will be organised at Maharana Pratap Sports Stadium in Dehradun. As of now, October 4 & 5 are proposed dates for the summit. But possibly, President of Russia is coming to India on October 4. In that case, according to the time availability of the Prime Minister, the main programme of the summit can be put ahead by one or two days.

Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat launched the Brand Logo and website www.destinationuttarakhand.in for the Investors Summit at a brief programme held at CM residence on Monday. Chief Minister said that Destination Uttarakhand will provide a platform for investment in Uttarakhand to the International and investors from the country. In the summit, investors, producers, manufacturers, policy makers and industrial organizations from around the world will participate. Investment in the state will provide employment in different areas to the local youth in large number. This will also provide opportunity to state entrepreneurs. Chief Minister said that there is need for a tie-up with the investors coming from outside and the local entrepreneurs. This will benefit both. He hoped that the young entrepreneurs of the state will also come forward and promote innovation and entrepreneurship in the state.

Chief Minister said that government is constantly working to make an investment-friendly environment in the state. We are at the first place among Himalayan states in Ease of Doing Business. In other states as well, we are at good ranking. We have a operated effectively single window system. The situation of law and order is much better. In the past, the availability of electricity has increased and the electricity rates are lowest among all the states of the North India. The availability of skilled labour in the state is more.

Chief Minister said that International Yoga Day in Dehradun got successfully concluded in the auspicious presence of the Prime Minister and from here the message of Yoga went to the country and abroad. Similarly, the October Investor’s Summit will also be held successfully in the presence of the Prime Minister. There will be investment in 12 fields selected as per the target. In the coming time, Uttarakhand will emerge as a preferred destination for investors.

Commissioner Industries Saujanya informed that in order to attract the investors, 12 main areas have been selected for the investment. These include food processing, horticulture, herbal and aromatic, tourism, wellness and Ayush, pharmaceuticals, automobiles, sericulture and natural fiber, IT, renewable energy, biotechnology and film shooting. Many mini-conclaves and road shows will be organized to attract investors before the Investors Summit.

On Ayush, Ayurveda, Herbal, Aromatic and Pharma, mini conclave was organized in Haridwar on July 12. Mini Conclaves on tourism and wellness will be organised in Tehri on August 7, on tourism and film shooting in Bhimtal (Nainital) on August 10 and on food processing and automobiles in Rudrapur on August 11. Similarly road shows will be organised in Bengaluru on August 22, in Hyderabad on August 23, in Ahmedabad on August 23, in Mumbai on August 29 and in New Delhi on August 30. A round table talk with ambassadors of different countries will be held in New Delhi on August 30. In order to participate in the summit, the registration will start on the website www.destinationuttarakhand.in from August 15.

The logo for the“Destination Uttarakhand: Investors Summit 2018” launched by the Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat is inspired by valley of flowers. It depicts the rising sun, which tells the emerging opportunities and industrial development in Uttarakhand. The 12 regions selected for the summit are shown as colourful leaves of 12 flowers.
