Transport office to take action against minors found driving two-wheelers

It is often seen young students on two wheelers cutting corners, overtaking from wrong side, rash driving. Most of the times these minors dont’ even wear a helmet.

In an age which is to establish the foundation of the future, in that age, many are driving irresponsibly. All these minor students generally from class 9 to 12 are not even using helmets while driving. Now Divisional Transport Officer (Enforcement) Sunil Sharma has expressed concern over this. Along with this, he has also issued a warning to the parents. In such cases the parents will be held guilty or the vehicle owner will be held responsible.

The Divisional Transport Officer (Enforcement) said that in case of violation of the traffic rules of the students, the parents will be held guilty under the relevant sections of the new Motor Vehicle Act and IPC. The vehicle owner will be held responsible. In such cases, there is a provision of imprisonment for three years with a fine of Rs 25,000. Prosecution will also be initiated in such cases under the Juvenile Act. According to the rules, if an accident happens to a minor child, then the claim of insurance will also not be given. Also the registration of the vehicle will be canceled for 12 months. The Divisional Transport Officer has advised the parents not to allow minor children to drive two wheelers.
